Sacred Adhik Maas: The Month of Lord Narayana
A unique monthly Anushthan during the sacred 13th month of Adhik Maas. The program includes a daily complex of spiritual rituals over a 30-day period, centered on the performance of the Vishnu Maha Yagya and continuous Akhand Hari Nam chanting to attain inexhaustible spiritual merits
Shri Devraha Baba Ashram, Vrindavan
Adhik Maas is a unique phenomenon of the Vedic calendar where a thirteenth additional month occurs in the year instead of the usual twelve.
In the Shastras, Vedas, and the works of rishis and sages, this period is called "Dev Maas" (the Month of the Gods) or the Month of Lord Narayana. It is also known as Purushottam Maas.
It is believed that Lord Narayana is the beginning of all creation, its guardian, and the supreme deity from whom all other gods originate. Therefore, Adhik Maas is considered a direct path to God, allowing a person to appear before Him and strengthen their connection with Him.
This month holds immense significance because any spiritual efforts undertaken during this time—be it chanting the names of God (japa), penance (tapas), spiritual practice (sadhana), donations, or righteous deeds (satkarma)—reach Lord Narayana directly.

Adhik Maas Program
The Anushthan program, dedicated to the sacred month, includes an extensive cycle of spiritual practices and rituals aimed at obtaining the grace of Lord Narayana:

Vishnu Maha Yagya
The central event of the program is a fire ceremony (Yagya) that will take place for a full month from May 17 to June 15. This nine-kunda Yagya will involve nine sacrificial fire altars, with rituals performed by 11 Brahmins

Akhand Hari Nam
A special program of continuous chanting of the Divine Names throughout the entire month: Brahmins will perform daily chanting of the Vishnu Sahasranam, Narayana Kavach, Narayana Hridaya Stotra, Narayana Atharvashirsha, and other sacred texts. For participants who have taken a spiritual vow (Sankalpa), the chanting will be performed in the Ashram personally on their behalf. This brings spiritual merits and piety, making them inexhaustible (Akshaya).

Daily Pujas and Worship
Worship of Lord Narayana will be performed using the Shodashopachara method (16 offerings), along with the adoration of all deities of the Yagya Mandapa, including Varuna, Kubera, Indra, Rudra, and Brahma.

Special Festive Events
In addition to the core ritual program, your names will be recited in the Sankalpa of supplementary rituals during energetically powerful days and celebrations throughout the Adhik Maas period.

Personal Practice
For full immersion in the practice, every participant of the Anushthan will be assigned a mantra practice.

Why Participate?
Participation opens unique spiritual opportunities, as this month is considered the "Month of the Gods". This rare period is a way to make a powerful leap in spiritual development.
Development of Spiritual Potential
Adhik Maas is intended for uncovering the potential of the Soul rather than for material requests. It is an ideal time for "Nishkama-karma"—selfless service to the world and one's soul without expecting personal gain.
Attaining Inner Peace
One of the fruits of the Anushthan is that the mind becomes more balanced and peaceful.
Direct Connection with the Divine
It is believed that selfless prayer during this period reaches the very heart of God. This month is a direct path to Lord Narayana, allowing you to stand before Him and strengthen your connection.
Deepening Personal Practice
Participation in the Anushthan helps make your spiritual practices more consistent and deep.
Multiplied Results of Practices
Any spiritual activity—whether it be chanting mantras (japa), penance (tapa), puja, charity (dana), or righteous deeds (satkarma)—has a virtuous effect that is multiplied many times compared to ordinary time.
Special Power of Good Deeds
In this month, any karma has a more powerful energetic impact. Performing any good deed brings a multiplied result, as this time is most favorable for accumulating spiritual merits (punya) and making your actions inexhaustible (Akshaya).
